Surface preparation
Steel blast cleaned to Sa 2.5 (ISO 8501-1) or power-tool cleaned to St 3. Zinc-rich primers only provide cathodic protection on bare steel, so full removal of the old coating is essential in repair work.
Coating systems
| Preceding coat | Directly on steel blast cleaned to Sa 2.5 or St 3, or on an approved zinc-rich shop primer. |
|---|---|
| Consequent coat | MIO intermediate, epoxy, polyurethane or fluorocarbon topcoats. |
