Surface preparation

Steel blast cleaned to Sa 2.5 (ISO 8501-1) or power-tool cleaned to St 3. Zinc-rich primers only provide cathodic protection on bare steel, so full removal of the old coating is essential in repair work.

Coating systems

Preceding coatDirectly on steel blast cleaned to Sa 2.5 or St 3, or on an approved zinc-rich shop primer.
Consequent coatMIO intermediate, epoxy, polyurethane or fluorocarbon topcoats.
